WHY A WOLF BECAME BEAST OF PREY
In time immemorial when the world has been just created, various people, animals, beasts gathered together and they started to distribute meals, trying to come to a decision about who will get this or that meal. Their arguing lasted for a long time, but all in vain Then they decided to choose Man rayes* of the convention. Then one of the people present asks the rais:
"What do wc people need?"
"Everything there is on the earth is for you."
Then it was the horse's turn.
"And what meals are for us?" asks Horse.
"Meals of plants".
Wolf wanted to have his share.
"And what meals suit me?"
"Red clay, tuyin."
"Aha, tuyin..."
Wolf misheard him: instead of tuyin he heard muyin which means "neck".
Having heard this, Wolf ran to the forest. Since then he has started throwing himself on all the animals and clutching at their necks.
