Half horse &mdash half man
No people were seen here in the earliest times. Only the herds of wild horses were grazing here and only the Hocks of birds, which were not afraid of anything, were flying high in the sky.
But once a man came here and began to hunt wild horses. But the horses wouldn't yield to him. They fled to other places. And chasing them, the man got to the bank of the Tuk river. Having reached the mountain of Barastau, he lost sight of the horses. And the man got puzzled so much that he did not know in what direction he would go. And of a sudden he saw a yearling grazing nearby. And the man caught it, got on it and struck the animal with a lash. At this moment the yearling turned into a beautiful maid. 'Don't kill me, agai*, because I am your destiny/ she said. That yearling turned out to be a human being. And then they made a hut on the bank of the Tuk river and began to live there. This is how the kin of Bashtai originated (bash - head, tai - tail).
