The origin from the bear
Our kin and kith goes back to the bear. And this is how it all came out A hunter once brought a bear-cub, and that bear-cub, started speaking a human language all of a sudden. The hunter was amazed, and he started asking him where and when he had learned to talk, and it turned out that the bear-cub had both beast and human ancestors, and the more he grew the stronger his human side got. He grew and gained in strength. When the time came to get him married they couldn't find a girl to be his wife: they were all afraid of his might and strength. But there lived a batyr* girl by the River Tuk who could carry two mill stones at a time. Once she grappled with the Bear Batyr and found him her equal, and they got married, and they gave birth to that bear3 breed which is still to be found among the Buryans and the Uthargans, and that kith and kin spread far and wide.
